The main aim of this Cooking Class is to combine the typical Albanian welcome, local food, and some of the most interesting traditional local “rules” that will make your experience unique and unforgettable.
In addition, during the cooking class, you will be taught to create from scratch some of the most unique Albanian dishes. All of this in good company and good local wine and drinks.
In this cooking class, you will learn to nicely prepare “Tave Kosi”, the most iconic Albanian Dish, known as “Independence Dish” since it was the favorite dish of Ismail Qemali, Albania’s first Prime Minister.
“Lakror” is also the Albanian version of Byrek. Very special and, of course, delicious. You will also learn how to prepare a delicious homemade byrek.
In addition, traditional desserts will also be part of the cooking class, and the tour also includes some homemade appetizers, beverages, and good wine and Raki.
We try our best to pick up Bio–Organic Ingredients, starting from our garden herbs and veggies to homemade wine and Raki, offering to our guests above all the real Local Taste of Albania.
To start, all guests will participate in preparing their very own Lakror. This traditional Albanian pastry will give you a hands-on experience in crafting a dish that’s beloved by locals. By the end of the tour, you’ll have the skills to cook it like a professional chef.
Next, you’ll prepare Tave Kosi from scratch. Known as the “flag of Albanian culinary,” this dish is a true icon of Albanian gastronomy. Combining yogurt and tender meat, it’s a must-try for anyone eager to explore authentic Albanian flavors.
After the main dishes, you’ll learn how to make a delicious traditional Albanian dessert. Discover the sweet flavors and unique preparation techniques that make Albanian desserts truly special.
Additionally, you’ll taste a variety of traditional Albanian starters and appetizers. These dishes highlight fresh, seasonal ingredients, giving you a perfect introduction to the heart of Albanian cuisine.
No Albanian meal is complete without Raki. You’ll have the opportunity to taste homemade Raki, a traditional drink that’s central to Albanian hospitality. Learn about its cultural significance while savoring its unique flavor.
In addition, you’ll prepare and taste Raki e Pjekur, a special winter version of Raki. Widely used for its warming properties, this drink is known for helping with colds and flu. It’s a comforting, authentic experience you won’t forget.
Albania is known for its rich winemaking tradition. During the tour, you’ll taste homemade wines made from local grapes. These wines offer a true taste of Albanian heritage and are the perfect complement to the dishes you’ve prepared.
You’ll also have the chance to sample a variety of homemade jams, with more than four different types to taste. Made from fresh, local fruits, these jams offer a sweet, memorable ending to the culinary experience.
To wrap up your experience, enjoy a freshly brewed cup of coffee and refreshing water. These beverages are perfect for accompanying the dishes you’ve prepared and adding to the authentic Albanian experience.
