My name is Sindi, and a few years back, I decided to open the doors of my home to welcome guests from around the world and offer the first Traditional Cooking Class in Tirana. Together with my older brother, Andi, we started this new experience with no experience, funds, or support, but with a clear vision: “to create a hands-on experience about Albanian Food and Gastronomy.”
From the very first day, we have relied only on local products, sourced from small local farmers and producers. We not only offer a service for the tourists, but we also aim to support the local community and especially women’s enterprises.
Located in the heart of Tirana, the Cooking Class is built in a typical private house. In one of the most traditional neighborhoods, characterized by a low-ceiling architecture, this is a small, peaceful oasis that will be the perfect place for the next couple of hours. We have carefully curated the interior, starting from the Handmade tables, chairs, and cutting boards to give an authentic experience.
Two varieties of Figs, Olive Tree, Pear tree, Jasmine, and plenty of herbs will create a very cozy environment for food and wine tasting, especially in the hot summer days.
We really believe in the Sustainability of our product, and for this, we are trying to create minimal waste from our class. Everyone is encouraged to pack the personal leftovers for a later meal, reducing food waste. The plastic usage is reduced, and our recipes are built based on seasonality and Kilometre 0 sourcing. We really believe in fair paid labor and try to support all the local Artisans, expecially women’s enterprice.
